NC Arboretum Wedding Venue

As Asheville wedding photographers, we have many things that we look for when it comes to wedding spaces. We want our couples to have the best experience and would love their pictures to look amazing too. The NC Arboretum is one place where that will happen for you.

Couple laughing on their wedding day

The NC Arboretum might not have accommodation options, but it is conveniently located 15 minutes from downtown Asheville. You’ll find many hotels and lodging options nearby. But that is not the only reason why we love this venue.

If you’re a couple interested in having an eco-friendly wedding in Asheville, then this venue is also your answer. It has a green wedding program and lots of other ideas perfect for the environmentally conscious couple. Couples thinking of having a garden wedding should also look into this venue. Here’s a little lowdown on why this might be the perfect venue for your wedding in Asheville.

History and Story of This Venue

Situated in a naturally diverse setting, the NC Arboretum sits among many acres of the Blue Ridge mountains. You’ll find bountiful gardens, flowerbeds, towering trees, and stone paths. It is maintained to captivate your senses, and it will. You’ll also enjoy the region’s delightful cultural heritage and how it is on display.

Your Wedding at The NC Arboretum

The NC Arboretum offers couples eight versatile locations for their wedding, each of them very picturesque. They also cater to indoor weddings, and so provide four rooms with the capacity to handle both big and small groups.

The first ceremony location we’ll be discussing is the Heritage Garden. It is the most popular outdoor location at the NC Arboretum and can host a maximum of 150 guests. It features plants used in the medicinal and craft industries. You’ll love the wooden pews.

The Events Lawn is also an outdoor space. You can find it adjacent to the Baker Exhibit Center, an indoor space, making this location ideal for ceremonies and cocktail hour and receptions. Couples love this space for its built-in string lights covering the open lawn. It also has impressive views of the greenhouse and can seat a maximum of 200 guests.

The Baker Exhibit Center is loved for its beautiful windows, wooden beamed ceilings, and fireplace. The fireplace is made of stone and is handcrafted. It makes for a perfect backdrop in wedding pictures. You can also use this location as a backup for a rainy day. It seats 150 people.

The outdoor Events Amphitheatre, like the name suggests, is for outdoor events. It is built with stone and has lovely views of evergreen trees, making it very picturesque. The Outdoor Events Amphitheatre can host up to 200 people.

If you’re looking for a place that has lovely seasonal plants and water features, then look no further than the Entrance Plaza at the NC Arboretum. This location is adjacent to the educational center and can seat 200 guests.

The Blue Ridge Court is perfect for your cocktail ceremony. It has fantastic mountain views and a stunning view of the large circular fountain. Couples with guests of 200 and fewer should look into using this location.

Broad Green at the NC Arboretum will give you that natural open stadium feeling with mountain views. It is perfect for a breathtaking ceremony. This location is an open lawn space that seats up to 200 guests. It is also gently sloped.

The education center’s auditorium has a built-in audio and visual system, alongside a projector. So modern-day couples say Hello! It can also seat 200 guests and partitions into a lobby space overlooking the verandah. You and your guests will love the Plants of Promise Garden’s views that this location will give you.

For a small cozy wedding, the library is available to rent and can only hold 35 guests. It also has a built-in projector screen and AV Equipment available to rent. This location is quite cozy and also has gorgeous mountain views.

What We Love About the NC Arboretum

Amongst many things, we love how naturally beautiful this place is. We also love the multiple location options that it has. Every couple can find something that suits them here. Not many venues can cater to an environmentally conscious couple, but this one can, so we also love it for that.

The locations at this venue are also so versatile. They can fit every couple’s taste and theme. Also, when you book this venue, all your tables and chairs are part of the package. There is also free parking for guests. But most of all, you’ll receive a free one-year household Arboretum membership! How cool is that?
